EventSpark vs. Splash

22 Oct 2026 · @Nicole

EventSpark gives Salesforce teams the full event lifecycle, from invitation to post-event certificate, in one 100% Salesforce-native package. It runs inside your org as a managed package, with no middleware and no sync jobs, at a price that stays affordable and grows with your requirements.

Powerful, affordable and built to grow with you

EventSpark's value comes from four facts working together:

  • Your data never leaves Salesforce. Registrations, sessions, payments and attendance are Salesforce records from the start. Nothing is copied in from an outside platform, so there is no sync to configure, monitor or fix.
  • One package, one license. Invites, registration, ticketing, payments, sessions, automated comms, check-in, badge printing, lead scanning, surveys and certificates all ship together. No per-user fees and no add-on modules as your program grows.
  • Your choice of payment provider. 35 providers through Shuttle, plus SparkSmiths' own gateway, with every transaction recorded on the booking in Salesforce.
  • People who run events. Client Care, a dedicated Customer Success Manager, onboarding, implementation and an in-house onsite events team come with the product.

At a glance: EventSpark vs. Splash

The core difference is where your event data lives. EventSpark runs inside Salesforce; Splash is a separate event marketing platform that syncs guests to Salesforce Campaigns. Splash has been part of Cvent since September 2024. Splash's column reflects Splash's own Salesforce, Ticketing and Virtual pages, its Capterra listing, Cvent's acquisition announcement, and third-party pricing research.

Native, not connected

With EventSpark, Salesforce is the event platform. With Splash, Salesforce is a destination that guest data is synced to.

Splash's Salesforce integration creates a Campaign for each event, syncs guests as Campaign Members, and updates their status as they move from Invited to Attending to Checked In. You choose whether it creates or updates Leads and Contacts. That works well for marketing attribution. But Splash's own documentation says guest updates are queued and sent in one bundled API call every five minutes, and rate-limit errors from Salesforce back to Splash are not retried. You run two systems, map fields between them, and depend on the sync staying healthy.

EventSpark has no second system. Every invite, booking, payment, session and check-in is a Salesforce record the moment it happens, so your Flows, reports, sharing rules and security model apply to event data with no extra setup.

Full lifecycle vs. event marketing

Splash is built for marketers. Its strengths are branded event pages, invitation and email campaigns, templates and brand kits, guest lists and program-level reporting, which is why Cvent bought it to extend its field marketing suite. Some reviewers note limits on design flexibility, registration types per event and enterprise governance.

EventSpark is built for teams that need the full event lifecycle inside Salesforce, and ships as one package that covers:

  • Invitations and RSVP, with approval steps, pre-registration and waitlists
  • Ticketing, with ticket types, ticket plans, pricing rules and vouchers
  • Group bookings, where one booker registers and pays for several guests
  • Payments, with every transaction recorded on the booking
  • Sessions, booked individually by each registrant
  • Branded microsites and event collections, with themes per department or brand
  • Automated communication plans tied to each stage of the registrant journey
  • Generated documents: tickets, certificates and calendar entries
  • Onsite check-in through the Flock onsite app
  • Badge printing through a print server
  • Lead Scan, for scanning leads and session attendance
  • Virtual and hybrid events, with native Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex integrations
  • Venues, spaces, staff and speakers, managed on the same data model
  • Post-event surveys, with follow-ups triggered by attendance or no-show

Multi-day and multi-session events

EventSpark does not need a separate event record for each day. One event holds as many sessions as the program needs, and each registrant books the sessions they want. Attendance is tracked per session, on the same registrant record in Salesforce, and scanned at the door with Lead Scan.

Splash added multi-session events in January 2025, with a Sessions Manager, guest-built agendas and per-session check-in through the Splash Host App. The difference is where the result lands: session attendance sits in Splash, and reaches Salesforce only as far as the Campaign Member sync maps it.

Payments: your provider, recorded in Salesforce

EventSpark connects to 35 payment providers through Shuttle, and SparkSmiths also has its own payment gateway. You choose the provider your finance team already uses.

Every financial event is stored on the booking in Salesforce: payments received, refunds, discounts, discount reversals, credits and debits. Invoice numbers, PO numbers, transaction status and reversal reasons sit alongside them.

Splash processes payments through Stripe only. Its ticketing covers standard, early-bird, donation and add-on tickets plus promo codes, and refunds are issued from the Splash guest list. Payment records live in Splash and Stripe, not on a Salesforce record. Accelevents, a Splash competitor, notes that Splash struggles to match corporate purchase and approval paths.

Contact matching and email

Contact matching is built in. When enabled, EventSpark's advanced matching criteria auto-map registrants to existing Leads and Contacts behind the scenes. There is no separate guest list to reconcile against Salesforce.

Email uses standard Salesforce delivery. EventSpark sends through your org's own email setup, so Salesforce's standard sending limits apply. In return, nothing is routed through a third-party sending service, and every message stays on the record.

Splash sends invitations and reminders from its own email engine, with templates and A/B testing. It is strong for marketing campaigns, but message history stays in Splash, and Capterra reviewers note that email sending costs extra through purchased email credits.

Support from people who run events

EventSpark clients work with people, not just a case portal: a Client Care team, a dedicated Customer Success Manager, a dedicated onboarding team to get them live, and our Projects division for implementation and configuration.

SparkSmiths also runs events itself. Our in-house onsite events team has delivered more than 1,000 events, and that experience shapes both the product and the support behind it.

Splash rates 4.5 out of 5 for customer service on Capterra, and many reviewers praise its responsiveness. Support depth is tiered by plan, with dedicated customer success reserved for Enterprise. Some reviewers say onboarding and account management leave something to be desired.

Affordable pricing that grows with your requirements

EventSpark starts at 4,800 USD per company per year, with every feature included and no per-user fees.

Splash does not publish pricing for its paid tiers; its Salesforce integration is included in paid plans. Capterra reviewers call it steep for small teams and note that email sending costs extra. Purchase data from Vendr, a software buying platform, puts the costs at:

Splash costEstimate (USD)
Median annual contract (153 purchases)about 27,000 per year
Reported range6,500 to 63,000 per year
Tier basisEvents per year, attendee capacity and features
OveragesFees when event or attendee limits are exceeded
Professional services10 to 25% of first-year cost
Annual renewal increasesOften 5 to 10%

As your program grows from a few events to a full calendar, EventSpark's price does not climb with every event or User. You scale on the same platform rather than moving up tiers.

Which event platform is right for your organization?

If your marketing team mainly needs beautifully branded event pages and invitation campaigns, with attribution synced to Salesforce Campaigns, Splash is built for that. If you want the full event lifecycle inside Salesforce, on your existing data model, with no sync to manage, at a price that grows with you and backed by a team that runs events, talk to us. EventSpark serves organizations of every size, from 5-employee teams to Fortune 500 companies, across Education, Corporate and Nonprofit.
