EventSpark vs. Fonteva
22 Oct 2026 · @Nicole
EventSpark gives Salesforce teams the full event lifecycle, from invitation to post-event certificate, in one 100% Salesforce-native package. It runs inside your org as a managed package, with no middleware and no sync jobs, at a price that stays affordable and grows with your requirements.
Powerful, affordable and built to grow with you
EventSpark's value comes from four facts working together:
- One package, one license, events first. Invites, registration, ticketing, payments, sessions, automated comms, check-in, badge printing, lead scanning, surveys and certificates all ship together. You don't need a membership system underneath it, and you don't buy add-on apps as your program grows.
- Your choice of payment provider. 35 providers through Shuttle, plus SparkSmiths' own gateway, with every transaction recorded on the booking in Salesforce.
- Built for any size and any segment. EventSpark clients range from 5-employee organizations to Fortune 500 companies, across Education, Corporate and Nonprofit. It fits your existing Contact and Account model and doesn't impose an association data model.
- People who run events. Client Care, a dedicated Customer Success Manager, onboarding, implementation and an in-house onsite events team come with the product.
At a glance: EventSpark vs. Fonteva
Both products are 100% Salesforce-native. The difference is focus: EventSpark is an events platform, while Fonteva is an association management system (AMS) with an events module. Fonteva's column reflects what Fonteva states on its Events page and Mobile page, plus its Capterra listing.

Events first, not membership first
Fonteva is built AMS-first: dues, renewals, member portals, an online store and a member community, with events as one module. That suits associations already running Fonteva for membership. For a university, a corporate events team or a nonprofit that just needs events, the AMS footprint means more objects, more setup and a data model built around members.
EventSpark is built only for events, and ships as one package that covers:
- Invitations and RSVP, with approval steps, pre-registration and waitlists
- Ticketing, with ticket types, ticket plans, pricing rules and vouchers
- Group bookings, where one booker registers and pays for several guests
- Payments, with every transaction recorded on the booking
- Sessions, booked individually by each registrant
- Branded microsites and event collections, with themes per department or brand
- Automated communication plans tied to each stage of the registrant journey
- Generated documents: tickets, certificates and calendar entries
- Onsite check-in through the Flock onsite app
- Badge printing through a print server
- Lead Scan, for scanning leads and session attendance
- Virtual and hybrid events, with native Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex integrations
- Venues, spaces, staff and speakers, managed on the same data model
- Post-event surveys, with follow-ups triggered by attendance or no-show
Multi-day and multi-session events
EventSpark does not need a separate event record for each day. One event holds as many sessions as the program needs, and each registrant books the sessions they want. Attendance is tracked per session, on the same registrant record, and scanned at the door with Lead Scan.
Fonteva also supports multi-day conferences and lets attendees build their agenda online. Its attendee app adds schedules and push notifications, but it runs on Guidebook, a third-party app platform that syncs back to Salesforce.
Payments: your provider, recorded in Salesforce
EventSpark connects to 35 payment providers through Shuttle, and SparkSmiths also has its own payment gateway. You choose the provider your finance team already uses.
Every financial event is stored on the booking in Salesforce: payments received, refunds, discounts, discount reversals, credits and debits. Invoice numbers, PO numbers, transaction status and reversal reasons sit alongside them.
Fonteva states it supports over 100 payment gateways with multi-currency. Since 2021 Fonteva has been part of Togetherwork, which also sells its own payment offerings. Ask which gateways carry extra fees before you commit.
Contact matching and email
Contact matching is built in. When enabled, EventSpark's advanced matching criteria auto-map registrants to existing Leads and Contacts behind the scenes. It works with the Account and Contact model you already have, so Corporate, Education and Nonprofit orgs don't have to adopt an association data model to run events.
Email uses standard Salesforce delivery. EventSpark sends through your org's own email setup, so Salesforce's standard sending limits apply. In return, nothing is routed through a third-party sending service, and every message stays on the record. Fonteva's Events page does not describe built-in email or communication plans.
Support from people who run events
EventSpark clients work with people, not just a case portal: a Client Care team, a dedicated Customer Success Manager, a dedicated onboarding team to get them live, and our Projects division for implementation and configuration.
SparkSmiths also runs events itself. Our in-house onsite events team has delivered more than 1,000 events, and that experience shapes both the product and the support behind it. Fonteva's support is built around association software, and some Capterra reviewers describe implementation and customer service as challenging.
Affordable pricing that grows with your requirements
EventSpark starts at 4,800 USD per company per year, against 8,400 USD per year for Fonteva Events on Capterra. No features are held back: registration, ticketing, payments, sessions, automated comms, check-in, badge printing, lead scanning and surveys come in one package. As your program grows from a few events to a full calendar, you scale on the same platform rather than buying your way into new capabilities or a membership system you don't need.
Which event platform is right for your organization?
If you are an association that already runs membership on Fonteva, its events module keeps everything on one AMS. If you want the full event lifecycle in one Salesforce-native package, on your existing data model, at a price that grows with you and backed by a team that runs events, talk to us. EventSpark serves organizations of every size, from 5-employee teams to Fortune 500 companies, across Education, Corporate and Nonprofit.
